If you are a long-term member of Simply Skilled Teaching Members Club at least two years , you will see many of the books and materials you currently have.

Phonics and Word Recognition —application of relevant reading foundational skills. Lesson Cards for fiction titles feature fluency activities that deepen reading comprehension. Lesson Cards for informational titles provide discussion points to explore text structures and features. Our differentiated, K-3 Guided Reading program increases student engagement and efficacy and is quickly adaptable to a variety of classroom settings both in person and online. This Curriculum includes minutes of oral daily practice that focuses on essential foundational skills for reading success.

The curriculum focuses on three tiers of instruction. If students need additional support on specific skill areas, tier 2 activities are performed in small groups.

Tier 3 instructional supports include additional independent activities on the specific skill and small group partner work if needed. The Whole Group Instruction tier focuses on quick, engaging skill-based oral instruction that focuses on the ability to recognize and manipulate the spoken parts of sentences and words. Students will practice identifying words that rhyme, recognizing alliteration, sentence segmentation, identifying the syllables in a word, and blending and segmenting onset-rimes.

Tier 2 instruction includes lessons and activities to implement during small group instruction to allow students additional practice on specific phonological skills and phonemic awareness activities that will give students additional interventions to reach mastery level.
