Meet and Greet in Narita Airport star-4 5. Traveling internationally can be exhausting and stressful. With this convenient meet-and-greet service at Narita Airport, start your trip to Japan off on the right foot. Your personal, English-speaking assistant meets you in the Arrivals hall of the airport, helps you obtain your Japan Rail pass, and sees you to your taxi, train or bus for a hassle-free arrival in Tokyo. Just visit the Narita Airport T1 or T2 counter at the arrival lobby and you will be able to start using the Internet as soon as you have landed.

There are three time length plans, all with unlimited data. The prices are as such: 7 days - yen 15 days - yen 30 days - yen. For those who use these applications, the price is probably better than getting unlimited data plans. These SIMs are rechargeable so their initial fee is pretty low considering.

And these travel SIMs can also be bought in town should you not get one at the airport. The Prepaid SIM for Travel is a bit more expensive but has as campaign that gives you two more gigabites per each SIM you purchase so it might be cheaper depending on how much you intend to use.

There is a vending machine that sells u-mobile SIMs. They sell three types of SIMs. Kiosks at the airport can be highly inconvenient because of opening hours usually being from 7am to 9pm and if you arrive before or after those hours you might have to skip out on internet. Japan Welcome SIM. Narita airport has so many ways to get you connected. For those who prefer to plan ahead to get the cheapest deal possible, you can see that Sakura Mobile is the one that stands out.

And the most important thing is that it never runs out of stock. While traveling in a foreign country, being connected is definitely one of the most important things you will need and care about. This rule also applies to Japan. Locating yourself on google map, sharing your moment on Instagram, or even entertaining yourself by viewing Youtube while you are on the train. They have only one model for WiFi rental, very simple.

The good thing about WiMAX is that some of those models allow you to use unlimited data without fair usage policy or possible speed restriction. However, we can't tell if their model allows "true" unlimited data or not from their website. The downside of WiMAX devices is that sometimes they have coverage issues especially underground, in buildings, and in the rural areas of Japan. So, that could be a bit troublesome if you plan to travel outside of metro areas.

Their daily rental rate varies on the rental length. Well, not cheap I have to say They accept cash so that's good for some folks. They also offer an optional insurance service which is JPY per day but we don't know how much of the costs it covers. Overall, their website shows very little information and their ordering form is not well-designed. But one thing for sure is their price is not that cheap. They have a booth in both Terminal 1 and 2, and they also have an online store which can be helpful as you can book ahead of time and collect it from their booth in the airport.

Their website used to be super messy but got a bit better recently. But still ordering form is not well-designed. Each has different speed and data allowance. Be aware that the speeds quoted mbps or Mbps are theoretical figures based on all conditions being at best optimization. The actual speed will not be that high this applies to all Pocket WiFi devices used in Japan. Also, there is some misleading information about "unlimited data".

As you can see in the screenshot above, their so-called unlimited data Pocket WiFi plans come with a fair usage policy. As the user, you should not assume that you can use high speed internet indefinitely.

Their prices include tax. Not cheap but not too expensive either, I would say. This is for premium WiFi plan so as you can assume their super premium WiFi is more expensive than this whereas their standard WiFi is a little cheaper.
