Another feature of And Then There Were None is the «Suspicion Meter», which measures the player's relationship with other characters, starting from a neutral position at the start of the game. There are negative consequences if the player is caught doing things that other characters deem inappropriate, which directly affects the «Suspicion Meter»: falling one point for every negative action and raising one point for each positive act.

Depending on which of three positions the meter is in regarding a particular character, dialogue actions with that character are affected. The player is also able to regain approval points by solving «Suspicion Meter» puzzles; multiple inventory items and combining items and can be quite complicated.
